AIA Kansas City: The American Institute of Architects

2010 Priorities

Member Value
Partner Value
Real Estate
Design Alliance

Priority 1 | Member Value

This priority will focus on how to communicate AIA Kansas City’s value to current, established members; future members – both established and Emerging Professionals; and students. Strategies will include showing what AIA Kansas City has done for members with better information distribution, providing mentorship opportunities and communication with both university and K – 12 students.

Priority 2 | Partner Value

This priority involves finding ways to increase our number of Cornerstone Partners and the value that we provide to them. With the opportunities that our new space provides, we hope to utilize some of those new options to make sure that our Cornerstone Partners are getting their value out of their contributions to us.

Priority 3 | Real Estate

This priority focuses on developing the new opportunities available to AIA Kansas City through the use of their new location in the Crossroads district. The completion of the new facilities for AIA Kansas City presents new opportunities to support other priorities and develop new ones. This priority will determine how existing programs and functions fit within the new space, develop new concepts for utilizing the space, and encourage engagement with the neighborhood.

Priority 4 | Design Alliance

This priority involves partnering with other professional organizations and like-minded groups under the umbrella of the KC Design Alliance. This emerging group needs to define its purpose more clearly, and how AIAKC can contribute to its success. In addition, we need to look at how to maximize member benefits now and into the future.
