Since 1890 AIA Kansas City has represented the professional interests of architects in the metropolitan area. Through its scores of programs and services, AIA Kansas City enhances the public’s awareness and appreciation of the unique services and contributions that architects provide, enhancing architects’ visibility and stature among clients and within the community. In addition, as the collective voice of the architecture profession, AIA Kansas City makes sure that architects’ concerns and interests are heard by key decision-makers at the federal, state and local levels and in the private sector.
AIA Kansas City membership offers a variety of opportunities for members to get involved and to take advantage of networking opportunities. Join one of our many committees, participate in our numerous continuing education opportunities and attend any of our chapter events, programs and lectures.
Whether you are an architect, intern architect, or a member of the greater design industry, you are invited to join The American Institute of Architects Kansas City in one of these categories:
AIA: Individuals with an architectural license from a U.S. licensing authority are eligible for architect membership.
Associate: Associate membership is open to individuals who meet one of the following criteria: professional degree in architecture; currently work under the supervision of an architect; currently enrolled in the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) and working toward licensure; or a faculty member in a university program in architecture.
Graduate Membership: Recently graduated with a NAAB-accredited Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate professional degree in architecture within approximately the past 1-18 months.
Professional Affiliate: Open to individuals outside the architectural practice yet involved in positions allied to the field, including engineers, landscape architects, design consultants, general and subcontractors, material suppliers, and other appropriate vendors. This is a local AIA Kansas City membership only.
